Asos has begun to impose a fee on returns. The measure will not affect everyone

Asos начал применять плату за возврат товаров. Мера коснется не всех

Some Asos customers have received letters from the company informing them that they have a relatively high rate of returns and are therefore being charged extra, the BBC reports. Customers who return an item (and therefore the money the company pays for it) will be charged a fee of £3.95 (€4.68) if the value of the item they keep is less than £40 (€47). The company does not explain in more detail what a “high return rate” means, but says that for the majority of customers nothing will change. “We are making these changes so that we can continue to offer our free returns service to all our customers,” Asos explained to the BBC. The extra fee is being charged to a small group of British shoppers who have a relatively high rate of returns and whose shopping habits make the offer of free returns unacceptable. However, they will still be able to return items for free if the value of the unreturned item exceeds £40. The retailer said shoppers signed up to Asos Premier will be able to return items for free as long as they keep an order worth at least £15. That threshold was introduced this year for Asos customers in several countries – France, Germany and the US.
