One of the discussed outbreaks (2024/30) was confirmed in the town of Ujazd in the Kiszkowo commune, exactly the same place where the district veterinarian in Gniezno ordered preventive slaughter of pig herds. Of the 13 outbreaks, 4 were eliminated. Of the remaining herds, an ASF outbreak was confirmed in the third herd. It turns out that what was not eliminated preventively will soon be eliminated during the elimination of outbreaks.
This puts local breeders in a particularly negative position, as they will soon be subject to a herd lockdown for a second month, which will last almost until mid-September. Provided, of course. that there will be no further outbreaks in the region.

Another ASF outbreak. The location is not obvious
The situation is not much better in the Rogoźno commune, where the second recent outbreak was confirmed. Within it, ASF has already occurred in four herds.
Greater Poland concentrated most of this year's ASF outbreaks in pigs. Out of 30 infected herds, 18 of them were located in six counties of the Greater Poland Voivodeship: Poznań, Wągrowiec, Obornicki, Gniezno, Czarnków-Trzcianecki and Piła. Moreover, the plague also occurred in the Lublin, Masovian, Warmian-Masurian and West Pomeranian Voivodeships.
The latest outbreaks have equalized last year's ASF balance in pig herds. Then, 30 outbreaks were confirmed throughout the year. However, we already know that this year's ASF season will be more unfavorable.
