Asda shakes up management amid slew of departures

Asda has reshuffled its management team, amid a slew of departures and arrivals to the business.

The supermarket confirmed its chief transformation officer Mark Simpson was stepping down from his role “by mutual consent,” The Grocer reported.

Simpson joined Asda back in 1997, and has held various senior positions such as chief supply chain officer and vice president supply chain.

It is thought that the chief transformation officer position will no longer exist following his exit with many of his responsibilities handed over to ex-Morrisons CIO Matt Kelleher, who arrives at the grocery giant later in July.

Additionally, Asda’s vice president and commercial director for food, Paul Gillow, is understood to be stepping down from the company after 21 years.
