To improve road safety, so-called “smart” traffic lights are being installed in Latvia. Delfi Business found out how many of them there are now in Latvia, where they are installed, do they fine only drivers or pedestrians crossing the road at a red light too? And also – is it possible to challenge the “solution” of a traffic light? The first “smart” traffic light, in which special LMT equipment was installed, appeared in Liepaja. It has stood at the intersection of Ulikha and Robezhu streets since the fall of 2019.
