
Scientists from Yandex with the help of Geoanalytics have assessed popular categories of business in center megacities of Russia in the Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, Kazan and Krasnodar. For this analysts compiled the ranking of types of organizations by number of competitors and number of user requests in ““Yandex Maps“ in Center cities, highlighting the five most popular niches by both indicators.

Central areas of city traditionally considered the most successful for opening a business. But they are also and the most crowded from the point of view the diversity of the organizations represented. But the demand for In Moscow the largest share of open business in Central administrative district (CAO) is on bars and restaurants (19.3%). These categories are aligned with the most relevant types of requests in residents, but they are in the list in a different sequence. A different picture is observed with grocery stores: demand for them takes the second place among all search queries of citizens, but they are not Ekaterinburg is characterized by high competition in the beauty sector: salons of beauty and massage are the first place in number of all companies in center of the city (16.5%), while within the from the point of interest in search among the residents they are only fourth place (5%).
