Last autumn, the expansion of IKEA in Estonia was announced, and yesterday it was announced that the updated and expanded planning and ordering point in Tartu will open its doors on 29 August. The sales office will be twice as big as the previous one. The aim of the expansion is to offer even more convenient and supportive planning and ordering of home solutions that are tailored to individual measurements and needs. „The expanded IKEA planning and ordering point in Tartu will be twice as big, offering residents of Southern Estonia even more inspiration and help in furnishing their home. In order to make everyday life even more affordable, furniture planning will be even more convenient. Those customers who need professional help or have questions will be able to contact IKEA kitchen planning specialists at any stage of their process by signing up for a free consultation. For other furniture, such as cabinets or home solutions, you can come in person at any time during business hours. “If the customer has a precise vision, they can use computers for self-planning or ask IKEA employees for help,” says Marko Põder, head of IKEA Estonia. He explains how this will look in practice – a customer who needs a new kitchen will be able to book a visit to IKEA Tartu, where employees will help plan the furniture free of charge, as well as help order it, and the customer will be able to pick it up at the IKEA planning and ordering point. Those who want to plan a wardrobe, bedroom furniture, sofa or bathroom can come to IKEA Tartu during working hours and use computers for self-planning or with the help of IKEA employees. The full range of IKEA home products will be available through the online store. There will be a specially designated area for receiving and returning orders. “A large part of the new point will be given over to the Exhibition Hall, where customers will be able to get even more inspiration for furnishing their home. The Exhibition Hall was created by IKEA interior designers based on their knowledge of how people in Estonia live at home, what problems they face and what they dream of. “Customers will also be able to touch and see the latest home furnishing solutions,” says M. Põder. All services available in the country will also be provided in Tartu, such as home delivery, assembly, measurements, financing, furniture installation, interior design for individual and business clients, etc. Moreover, about 300 products will now be available on site, which can be purchased without prior ordering. Among them: home organizers and accessories, tableware and toys. The IKEA Tartu point will also have a new shopping area – As-I. Those who have visited the IKEA store in Tallinn are probably familiar with the discounted goods area or allahinnatud tooted (discounted goods sales area). Here, you can buy products at a reduced price immediately; these are the products that have been returned or used in the Exhibition Hall and which cannot be sent back to the warehouse. “At IKEA, we strive to ensure that products and materials are used for as long as possible. We extend the life of our products by developing durable solutions that are easy to maintain, repair, adapt and use for longer. The discount department allows us to work and our customers to live even more sustainably and with care for the environment,” says the head of IKEA Estonia. The IKEA product planning and ordering point, with an area of approximately 2,000 square meters, will be located at Ränirahnu tee 21, in the Lõunakeskus shopping park area. Until August 29, the current IKEA Ordering Point in Tartu will operate as usual. The first IKEA product ordering and planning point in Tartu was opened in Lõunakeskus shopping park in November 2021. In Estonia, IKEA is represented in Tallinn, Tartu and there is also an online store.
