The Stelęgowski family lives and farms in Kudelczyn in Masovia, which is located near Sokołów Podlaski. The head of the family, Mr. Tadeusz, is helped by his two sons and their wives: Piotr and Paweł. Moreover, the family of breeders is recognized throughout the country, among others: thanks to females of high breeding value and great passion for breeding and breeding Holstein-Friesian cattle. The farm from Kuldelczyn is among the top 100 farms of this type in the country according to… ranking of the Polish Federation of Cattle Breeders and Milk Producers. The family of breeders has been supporting their own organization for years, and their females are monitored for their utility value.
The volume of the facility
The new barn in Kudelczyn is huge. It towers over other buildings on the farm. Its volume is impressive: the building in the ridge is 14 meters high, and the roof extends over it at an angle of 25 degrees. Of course, this is not the first barn at the Stelęgowski family, but there are smaller ones built earlier.
Why was it decided to build such a high object? The answer is very simple: it's about ventilation and, of course, the well-being of the females kept there.

Longer beds
Nearly 350 beds were designed and then built in the barn. Their width is standard – as Tadeusz Stelęgowski admits – however, they are longer than those in other facilities where cattle are kept in Kudelczyn so far. The width of the beds is 125 cm, length: 500 cm, which is 20 cm longer than in other barns.
An interesting solution was used in watering cattle. All troughs are connected into one system. The functioning pumps in this system guarantee that the water will not freeze in winter, and moreover, the females will have constant access to a clean and unlimited waterer.
Brave in business
Mr. Tadeusz and his family built the first free-stall barn 22 years ago. Since then, breeders have been taking care of the welfare of their cattle. When we ask the head of the family whether he is not afraid of further tightening of animal welfare regulations, he answers with the question: "what more can we do for our animals?" The breeder invites "city people" and, above all, children who have never seen animals. – Let them find out where the milk comes from – he says.
Breeders rely on the purchase of first plants on their farm, which is why those obtained are "pampered" and cared for. Their business is also based on obtaining concentrate feed from outside the farm, as land resources limit plant production to obtaining only bulk feed from the fields.
