ALDI once again entrusts logistics services to Frigo Logistics
Frigo Logistics is responsible for logistics services for ALDI stores in the southern part of Poland – in the Lower Silesia, Lublin, Łódź, Lesser Poland, Masovian, Opole, Podkarpackie, Silesian and Świętokrzyskie voivodeships. Operations are performed from the Frigo Logistics distribution center in Czeladź in Upper Silesia. Warehouse and distribution services for the retail chain apply to all types of frozen products – frozen bread, ice cream, fish and ready-made meals. The first category is particularly important from ALDI's perspective – bread that employees bake on site – in stores.
As part of our activities, we continue to improve the ALDI store service process, e.g. by introducing a fixed hourly delivery schedule established in consultation with the customer. The location of our distribution center in Czeladź is also very important in the context of operational efficiency, as it creates favorable conditions for efficient distribution in southern Poland. ALDI also systematically opens new locations, which from our perspective is an area for developing cooperation, says Kris Verbruggen, president of the management board of Frigo Logistics.
ALDI and Frigo Logistics have been cooperating since 2018. At the beginning, all operations were carried out in the distribution center in Żnin, then the sales network was moved to the freezer warehouse in Czeladź, and has been operating from there ever since.
Frigo Logistics delivers products requiring controlled temperatures to over 4,500 points throughout Poland. The company has ten distribution centers and is currently implementing an investment plan worth PLN 200 million, which will increase distribution capabilities in the coming years. It provides comprehensive logistics services including: receipt of goods, storage, picking, co-packing, goods release, transport and distribution.
