"AGR" (AGR Automotive Group, former Volkswagen car plant, Kaluga) has resumed production in Kaluga and started assembling cars. This was reported by Interfax with reference to a statement by Vladimir Popov, Deputy Governor of the Kaluga Region.

He said that AGR began serial assembly of cars in August and plans to assemble 27 thousand cars by the end of the year. Popov did not specify the brands of cars that will be assembled at the enterprise.
The deputy governor also said that the auto cluster enterprises in the region have resumed operations. In particular, JSC AMO of the Industrial Investments Group (the former Volvo Trucks site in the Russian Federation) has assembled 649 trucks this year and plans to assemble 2,000 by the end of the year. The company Avtomobilnye Tekhnologii carries out contract manufacturing of Citroen C5 Aircross vehicles. It expects to assemble 1,500 vehicles by the end of the year.
