Manufacturers are short of raw materials for butter production, and grocery store shelves are unusually empty. A reader contacted Delfi Ärileht after seeing an advert in a Coop store. The retail chain apologizes for the lack of butter in the store, explaining that there is a shortage of cream in Estonia for its production. "Last week, manufacturers informed us that butter supplies are complicated because there is a shortage of the cream needed for its production," said Martin Miido, communications manager for the Coop chain, adding that one major manufacturer reported that production volumes are decreasing due to the modernization of production lines.
