Fleischerei Holzapfel is a Thuringian company specializing in the production of cold cuts and sausages. It has been on the market for over 200 years, since 1815 to be precise. Unfortunately, it recently filed for bankruptcy. The local newspaper "Thüringer Allgemeine" reports that the company is no longer solvent. This means that all eight branches in Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt will be closed. The production plant in the town of An der Schmücke will also cease operations.
According to the trustees, the insolvency is mainly due to the sharp increase in raw material prices and a significant drop in demand. The production plant and butcher shops belonging to Holzapfel have been struggling with financial problems for some time, which are exacerbated by the constant increase in costs – emphasizes portalspożywczy.pl .
The company's situation has also been affected by rising energy prices, which are driving up inflation. Around 80 people will lose their jobs.
