A huge slump in the fattening pig market. Prices are falling, but not everywhere
Fortunately, it turned out that the past seven days have not brought any further price reductions. In almost all of the plants our editorial team contacted, the prices from August 14 were maintained. The average purchase prices are therefore identical to those from a week ago.
For fattened pigs in class E, establishments pay from PLN 8.30 to PLN 9.00 net per kilogram, while the average purchase price is PLN 8.60/kg. In turn, prices for fattened pigs in live weight range from PLN 6.00 to PLN 7.20 net per kilogram. The average purchase price is currently PLN 6.60/kg.

Experts assume that in the second half of August, purchase prices should remain stable, but are we able to predict anything on such an uncertain market? – the expert assesses.
