Multikino closes its facility in Ursynów
The decision to close the cinema was difficult. However, the sale of the perpetual usufruct right to the plot where Multikino Ursynów operates enabled partial repayment of the debt that accrued during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a particularly difficult time for the cinema industry – cinemas were closed for 40 weeks, and financial support from PFR and PISF bypassed the largest entities, such as Multikino SA, which were not in the SME sector. We know that many viewers, especially the residents of Ursynów, have been with us for years and we would like to say goodbye to them in the way such a unique and loyal audience deserves. From August 15 to 18, we invite Warsaw residents to a special, long cinema weekend full of attractions – said Paweł Świst, president of the management board of Multikino SA
Multikino, belonging to the Vue International Group, is the first operator to launch a multiplex in Poland in 1998. Since then, it has set the highest standards in the construction and operation of cinemas in Europe and around the world. Currently, 44 cinemas operate under the Multikino banner in 37 Polish cities.
The chain's flagship cinema is located in the Złote Tarasy shopping center in Warsaw. In March 2022 A unique cinema was launched in the Gemini Park Gallery in Tychy. The facility consists of 7 rooms equipped with laser projectors and leather, electrically reclining armchairs, thanks to which the viewer can watch films in a semi-reclining position. Multikino in Galeria Młociny in Warsaw and Multikino Stary Browar in Poznań are also fully equipped with foldable armchairs of this type.
