In August-September of this year, the Moscow Arbitration Court accepted for consideration four claims from advertising agencies Lion Communications (part of the Rodnaya Rech Group), IVK Media Solutions and DOT Digital Agency against distributors of Chinese auto brands Kaiyi, BAIC and SWM (the beneficiary is Vladimir Shcherbakov, the founder and main owner of the Kaliningrad automobile holding Avtotor). The total amount of claims under the claims amounted to 1 billion rubles, Vedomosti writes with reference to the case materials.

The Lion Communications company is trying to recover 592 million rubles from the distributor of the BAIC brand (OOO Baik Rus), and 88.6 million rubles from the distributor of SWM (OOO Vostok Veter Rus). The claims are related to a six-month debt for advertising placement in the media, creative services, event organization and PR support.
IVK Media Solutions filed a claim against Kaiyi distributor (OOO Kai Rus) for 363 million rubles. And DOT Digital Agency demands to recover from it 5 million rubles "in debt and interest for using other people's money." These claims are also related to agency agreements on the provision of advertising services.
Analysts noted that in order to make a correct decision, the court will have to establish the very fact of the conclusion of agency agreements, as well as find out whether advertising services were provided in the volume and quality that were determined by these documents.
