You can get rid of ants in your home with flour. Experts from the publication Tut Novosti have recommended a simple way to do this, writes Rambler. According to experts, flour, when it gets on an ant's body, clogs its respiratory tract and also absorbs moisture from the surface of its body, which leads to dehydration. They suggested sprinkling a thin layer of flour where ants are especially active – in cracks in the floor, walls, around pipes. If you find an anthill on your property, experts advised doing the same around the insects' home or creating a barrier of flour, pouring a strip two to three centimeters wide around tree trunks or beds to protect plants. Special traps will help enhance the effect of flour. To make them, you will need to mix sugar and flour in equal proportions and place the mixture in small containers in places where ants congregate. The sugar will attract the insects, and the flour will destroy the pests. Another effective remedy against ants, which will increase the destructive effect on them, is a mixture of flour with boric acid or baking soda. However, experts warned that they should be used with caution, especially if there are children or pets in the house. To prevent ants from appearing in the house, experts recommended storing food in sealed containers, regularly removing crumbs and food remains, and sealing cracks and crevices in the walls and floor.
