
The lack of fattened pigs on the domestic market seems to be increasingly noticeable. This is the conclusion from our current animal price listing. Although the official price lists on the German market (which is usually referred to by domestic plants) have been stagnant for a good few weeks, in Polish purchases we have seen a real increase in fattened pig prices for the second week in a row. Over the past week, both the prices of livestock and animals sold in warm slaughter weight have increased significantly.

Prices of fattened pigs in mid-September
For fattened pigs in class E, domestic purchasers are currently offering farmers prices of PLN 8.60-9.00 net per kilogram. The average purchase price is currently PLN 8.82 net per kilogram – 15 groszy more than a week ago.
Similar increases were also noted in the case of fattened pigs sold in live weight. Prices of animals in this category range from PLN 6.40 to PLN 7.20 net per kilogram. The average purchase price is PLN 6.75 net per kilogram – 11 groszy more than a week ago. In both cases, the prices are the highest since the beginning of August.
