A major Estonian manufacturer of meat products has been declaredbankrupt

The Tartu County Court on Monday declared the manufacturer of meat products, Saaremaa Lihatöööstus, writes Rus.ERR.

At the state of 21 January the firm’s tax arrears exceeds 1.4 million euros.

The company, which was in a difficult economic situation, had previously tried to be rescued with the help of a bailout.

While at the beginning of 2023 year the company employed about 140 people, by the end of last year their number had dropped to 39.

The owner of the firm is Vyacheslav Leedo.
