A large grain fire on a stump near Strzelin. 50 hectares went up in smoke

Yesterday, firefighters from the State Fire Service and Volunteer Fire Department from Strzelin and Ząbkowice counties fought a massive grain fire on a stump. Fields were burning in the Jegłowa area in the Przeworno commune – reports the Strzelin Region Word.

Strong wind spread the fire over 50 ha of fields, mainly with unharvested wheat. The weather was also favored by the heat. Firefighters brought the situation under control after several hours of operation. Due to thick smoke, traffic had to be suspended on a nearby road.

Unfortunately, standing grain on almost 50 hectares burned. The causes of the fire are not yet known. Losses are also being estimated.
