The clothing industry around the world is struggling with serious problems, and the crisis is deepening with the collapse of well-known retail chains. Bankruptcies are particularly visible on the German market.
A year ago, the world-famous German department store chain Peek & Cloppenburg presented a bankruptcy plan. However, Polish business is doing well.
Peek & Cloppenburg was founded on January 13, 2000. All shares in the company belong to Peek & Cloppenburg Holding BV based in Roermond, the Netherlands.

Peek & Cloppenburg has been operating in Poland for 24 years. Last year, the chain closed an outlet store in the Arkadia Center in Warsaw, and under a newly concluded lease agreement, a new store was opened in the Promenada Center, where the first sale took place in March 2023. In addition, 2 new lease agreements were signed for retail space in Szczecin and Kielce. These stores will launch in fall 2024.
In the period from January to December 2023, the company's revenues from the sale of goods totaled PLN 443,985,807.95, which meant an increase of 8% compared to the previous year. The increase in sales is related to the opening of a new store. The new marketing policy and the development of loyalty programs also made a significant contribution.
The company's balance sheet at the end of 2023 amounted to:
PLN 234,538,923.76 and net profit of PLN 9,156,966.87.
Despite the increase in revenues, the financial result deteriorated compared to the previous year, which is mainly related to the increase in operating costs.

The company has invested in the retail network in the amount of over PLN 29 million
