Let us recall that a week ago the German association VEZG decided to lower the recommended price of fattened pigs by 10 euro cents to EUR 2.00 per kilogram of fattened pig with 57% meat content.
This could not remain indifferent to the domestic market, but it turns out that not all companies decided to reduce prices, and where prices fell, the corrections were not always proportional to the German stock exchange.

Prices of fattened pigs in Poland
As our weekly survey shows, fattened pigs in class E are valued at an average of PLN 8.58 net per kilogram, which is a decrease of 27 groszy compared to last week. Prices range from PLN 8.30 to PLN 9.00 net per kilogram.
The price of fattened pigs in live weight is currently on average PLN 6.60 net per kilogram, which is a decrease of 22 groszy compared to last week. Prices range from PLN 6.00 to PLN 7.20 net per kilogram.

There is a shortage of fattened pigs on the market
It turns out that the situation is not as clear-cut as one might think looking only at the German market. Information is reaching us from purchasers about the low supply of raw material on the market. According to a representative of one of the plants contacted by our editorial team, it is becoming increasingly difficult to fill the schedules in such a way as to maintain the continuity of the slaughter lines. To some extent, this cushions the drop in prices resulting from the German stock exchange quotations, however, it should be remembered that many plants will compensate for the shortages on the domestic market with imported raw material.
