From August 7, 2024, anyone who visits the Kaufland.pl website or opens the Kaufland application on a smartphone will have access to both the offer of the chain's stationary stores, as well as to over two million items on the Kaufland Marketplace platform. They have been grouped into over 6,400 categories, such as home, electronics, garden, DIY, kitchen and household, sports, fashion, baby and child. All items can be purchased online at any time and then conveniently delivered to your home. The assortment available on the platform will be expanded in the near future.
Kaufland: Our ambition is to become one of the most popular e-commerce platforms in the country
– Today will go down in the history of Kaufland in Poland in a unique way. So far, our network has been based on stationary trade, based on direct contact with the buyer. Thanks to its debut in the e-commerce space, from today the Kaufland brand offers its customers not only everything they need during their daily shopping in stationary branches, but also much more on the online platform. There is already a huge selection to choose from, and the offer will be further expanded in the coming months. Our ambition is to become one of the most popular e-commerce platforms in the country, which will be helped by the recognition and values of our brand – says Michał Łagunionek, President of the Management Board of Kaufland Polska.
Kaufland.pl operates based on the marketplace model. The platform cooperates with external sellers who offer their products on the website on their own behalf. In addition to the price and a detailed description of the offer, customers will also find transparent information about a given seller on the website. Buyers can use many payment methods, such as BLIK, purchase on a VAT invoice and in installments, online bank transfer and payment by payment card. Customers then receive the items purchased via the platform directly from the seller. If buyers have any questions regarding an item or order, Kaufland customer service will provide support via the hotline or contact form.
Kaufland Card will be a link between stationary sales and the marketplace platform
The Kaufland Card loyalty program will also be a link between stationary sales and the marketplace platform. Registered Kaufland Card users can now collect loyalty points on the Kaufland platform website and exchange them both when shopping online and when visiting traditional stores. That's not all, because in the Kaufland application you can also find coupons for use on the marketplace platform.
Kaufland Global Marketplace as a growth stimulator for Polish retailers
Thanks to Kaufland Marketplace, domestic sellers can present their offers via the platform in Poland, as well as simultaneously in other countries: Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and soon also in Austria. Currently, over 1,100 Polish retailers sell their products through the platform in these countries. They use the comprehensive Kaufland Global Marketplace solution, which provides many additional services, such as multi-channel marketing solutions for online offers, payment processing in local currency and free translation of product information.
On the occasion of the launch of the Polish marketplace, Kaufland is offering online sellers a special start-up offer. There will be no subscription fee for using the website for three months. Additionally, during the first three months from the launch of the Kaufland Marketplace platform in Poland, sellers will be able to sell their products without commission.
In Germany, Kaufland Marketplace is one of the largest e-commerce platforms, boasting 32 million monthly visitors and over 45 million products grouped in 6,400 categories. Last year, the platform was also successfully launched in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Shortly after its debut in Poland on September 4, Kaufland Marketplace will also start operating in Austria.
