PLN 27.8 million of net profit and PLN 2.67 billion of revenues of the Specjał Group

During the 12-month period, sales revenues amounted to PLN 2,674,893,773.09, while for the previous year they amounted to PLN 2,452,428,278.88 and recorded a dynamics of 109.07%.

The sales of goods and services for individual types of activity are as follows:

  • wholesale and retail sales of food products in the amount of PLN 2,471,706,834.29, which constitutes 92.40% of total sales;
  • wholesale and retail sales of medical products in the amount of PLN 38,157,330,45, which constitutes 1.43% of total sales;
  • sales of the Protection Agency (security, cleaning) in the total amount of PLN 46,746,924.22, which constitutes 1.75% of total sales,
  • other sales revenues amounted to PLN 118,282,684.13 and accounted for 4.42% of total sales.

The company generated a net profit of PLN 27,819,121.06. while for 2022 the net profit amounted to PLN 35,975,196.88. The decline in the financial result was mainly due to the increase in personnel costs together with overheads and the level of financial costs resulting from high interest rates.

The balance sheet total of assets and liabilities amounts to PLN 741,913,088.70 and showed a growth dynamics of 107.48%.

Ebitda for 2023 amounted to PLN 65,625,523.82, while for the previous year it amounted to PLN 77,974,217.66.

The company employed 1,689 people at the end of the year. Employment of disabled people amounted to 878 people. Specjał spent PLN 106,581,776.49 on remuneration in 2023, which constitutes 4.04% of operating costs.

After taking over the REN company in July 2022 as a separate distributor responsible for the nationwide distribution of branded frozen food and ice cream products both in retail and in the Horeca channel, Specjał made great efforts and developed the activities of the new entity throughout 2023. REN became part of the Specjał Capital Group. The Ren company operated almost throughout the country through 10 branches. The assortment list of goods offered to customers was optimized and more attractive, which resulted in a further increase in sales. Moreover, the company has undertaken a number of actions in the field of logistics in order to increase the level of customer satisfaction. Specjał warehouses are equipped with modern system devices in which mobile solutions combined with the hardware infrastructure of high-bay warehouses play a key role in logistics processes. In all Branches, customers can place orders via the e-wholesale platform, the application is available 24/7/365, with the current offer. Sales representatives can collect orders thanks to the Sellitem application, working online and offline, with visibility of personalized customer offers.

As part of the provision of property protection, cleaning and monitoring services, activities were carried out in over 1,200 facilities.

How does the company define market risks? The report states that the natural risk factor is the competitive struggle and constant customer acquisition.

– A wide range of goods, timely deliveries, no blockages on the purchasing side contribute to maintaining a high market position. Diversification of the business through the commercial offer of FMCG products, medical products and the provision of security and cleaning services allows you to take advantage of synergy effects in individual types of activities and minimize market risk. Unexpected changes in the prices of food, beverages and alcohol resulting from increases in fuel prices, logistics costs, energy prices and wages have an impact on the company's results. Inflation translated into changes in the prices of goods sold and services provided, which allowed us to optimize the financial result, it was written.

The market in which PPHU Specjał operates is a difficult market, characterized by very strong competition. The trade itself is also difficult, i.e. food and other everyday items.

The company is currently one of the fastest-growing enterprises in the food trade sector in Poland, says the management board.

The company reveals that another important element of the dynamic development strategy that will be implemented by the company in 2024 is the launch of the WRT program (Traditional Market Support) for customers who will be able to purchase the best-rotating products at low prices subsidized by producers and distributors, which will affect the attraction of consumers and increasing sales for Specjał.

In the following years, Specjał intends to continue to increase its market share through further acquisitions of companies in the industry and organic development.

The goal is further territorial expansion, covering the whole of Poland and taking a strong position on the nationwide market.
