A serious barn fire occurred last Friday on a farm at Ozimska Street in Daniec, in the Chrząstowice commune, Opole Voivodeship. One person was injured – reports the Opolskie Ratownictwo portal.
Fire brigade units from the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service Opole, the Volunteer Fire Department Daniec, the Volunteer Fire Department Dębie and the Volunteer Fire Department Falmirowice were dispatched to extinguish the fire. On site, it turned out that the litter in the cattle barn had caught fire. The owners tried to extinguish the fire themselves before the firefighters arrived and evacuated the animals. They managed to successfully extinguish the fire. No animals were harmed.
Firefighters doused the fire with water and checked the building with a thermal imaging camera. Unfortunately, the owner suffered second-degree burns while extinguishing the fire. He was given first aid by firefighters and then handed over to paramedics.
