The accident occurred in Studzianki, in the Zakrzówek commune, Kraśnik poviat. The farmer was transporting grain in a trailer and was driving down a hill. The trailer loaded with grain hit the tractor and overturned it together with the driver. The 65-year-old driver was crushed by the vehicle.
Witnesses immediately called the emergency services. Firefighters rescued a 65-year-old man from under the tractor. The man was conscious. After providing first aid, the injured farmer was transported to the hospital by an air ambulance helicopter.
"We appeal to all farmers and people working in the field to be especially careful. The agricultural season is in full swing, and police statistics indicate a considerable number of accidents related to work with agricultural machinery." – we read in the police statement. In identical circumstances – while transporting grain and on a hill – it occurred in a field in Sadurki near Nałęczów. There, a tractor crushed a 35-year-old man.
