A district officer from Mielnik in Podlasie inspected the ferry crossing on the Bug River to check the sobriety of the helmsmen. "After a short conversation with the people operating the ferry, the uniformed officer smelled alcohol from one of the men. A breathalyzer test showed over 2.6 per mille of alcohol in his body." – we read in the police statement.
The irresponsible helmsman admitted to the police that he had consumed alcohol until late at night the previous day. The man had to finish work and will be held accountable for his actions in court. "This is another case in which the helmsman of a ferry on the Bug River in Mielnik was drunk. Nearly 2 months ago, another man operating the ferry had more than 1000 PLN of alcohol in his body." – admits the police.
