Purchase prices and prices obtained by farmers at markets
In July 2024, compared to the previous month, both in the procurement and at the markets, the prices of most agricultural products were lower. On a monthly basis, the prices of barley, corn and poultry in the procurement and live cattle at the markets increased.
Compared to the same month of the previous year, in July 2024, a decrease in purchase prices and prices at markets for most agricultural products was recorded. Prices for corn and milk at purchase and for live cattle increased on both markets.

Prices of major agricultural products in July 2024
In July 2024, the purchase price of wheat (PLN 81.58 per dt) dropped by 9.7% compared to June this year and by 12.4% compared to the same period last year. At marketplaces, wheat was priced at PLN 107.71 per dt, i.e. 1.6% less than a month ago and 17.4% less than a year ago.
Rye at the procurement level (PLN 61.97 per dt) was sold cheaper compared to June this year (by 12.9%) and July 2023 (by 9.1%). In the marketplace, the price of rye (PLN 80.59 per dt) dropped by 1.1% month-on-month and by 22.0% year-on-year.
In July 2024, the purchase price for potatoes was PLN 119.96 per dt, i.e. 16.7% less than in June this year and 9.3% less than in the same period last year. At marketplaces, the price of potatoes (PLN 182.97 per dt) dropped by 26.0% compared to June this year and by 1.4% compared to July 2023.
The purchase price of live cattle (PLN 10.49 per kg) was 1.4% lower on a monthly basis, but 7.6% higher on a yearly basis. On marketplaces, live cattle (PLN 11.91 per kg) were sold more expensively both compared to June this year (by 1.8%) and July 2023 (by 23.8%).
In July 2024, the purchase price for live pigs was PLN 7.37 per kg , i.e. 4.7% less than a month ago and 21.0% less than a year ago.
The purchase price of slaughter poultry (PLN 5.48 per kg) was 4.0% higher compared to June 2024, while compared to the same period last year it dropped by 6.9%.
The purchase price per hl of milk was PLN 194.92, i.e. 0.1% less than in the previous month, but 3.3% more than a year ago.
