16 new supermarkets, almost a billion euros in revenue. Stokrotka "on the wave"

16 nowych supermarketów, prawie miliard euro przychodów. Stokrotka "na fali"
  • In the first half of 2024, consolidated revenues of companies managed by MAXIMA GRUPE increased by 4.7% compared to the same period last year, reaching EUR 3 billion.
  • This growth was mainly driven by the ongoing expansion in Poland and Bulgaria, as well as increased sales in Lithuania and Latvia.

The Group’s total revenue growth in the first half of this year was lower than last year, mainly due to a slowdown in consumption, especially in Estonia and Poland, as well as the cessation of Barbora’s operations in Poland.

Over 920 million euros in Stokrotka's revenue

The largest part of the revenue growth came from Poland, where the most active store network expansion took place, resulting in an 11.2% increase in revenue, exceeding EUR 920 million.

Although the revenues of the “Stokrotka” and “T Market” chains recorded steady growth, strong competition and lower product prices led to only a slight increase in store turnover.

In the Baltic countries, like-for-like sales (LFL) growth exceeded or matched the market growth rate, with the highest LFL growth recorded in Lithuania (4.7%).

The Group's EBITDA amounted to EUR 209 million, down 10.8% compared to the same period last year. The decline in profitability was mainly due to increased competition and rising wages, which significantly affected operating costs.

16 new Daisies

Investments in fixed assets in the first half of 2024 amounted to EUR 109 million, EUR 53 million more than in the same period last year. In the first half of 2024, 24 new stores were opened, including 16 in Poland, 5 in Bulgaria, 2 in Lithuania and 1 in Latvia.

Last year, the Group introduced a new private label, “Well Done,” on all markets. Under this name, it offers as many as 550 products.
