Little known, well paid. In these professions you will earn above average
The Institute for Labor Market and Profession Research (IAB) developed Job-Futuromat in 2016. This tool allows you to check what part of around 9,000 tasks could be performed by machines. The last update took place in 2023.
– In the case of 2022, we clearly felt the impact of generative artificial intelligence on the labor market – says Katharina Grienberger, head of the IAB team, in ippen.media.
AI is already replacing not only auxiliary and specialist professions (requiring no training or up to two years of training), but also scientific and IT professions, which are currently characterized by the highest growth rate in terms of replacement.
The IAB states that highly skilled people are particularly affected by the effects of artificial intelligence. Experts in digital transformation even predict that office work, especially in medium-sized companies, could be completely replaced by robots. However, this will not happen so quickly. In 2022, 38% of employees worked in positions that could be largely replaced by AI.
The good news is that sometimes human labor is cheaper or simply socially desirable, e.g. the work of a baker, although 100% replaceable, will still be needed because many people prefer bread baked by hand.
– The aim of Job-Futuromat is not to instill fear, but rather to prepare people for lifelong learning. Our initial training is rarely sufficient. We increasingly have to continue learning and familiarize ourselves with new technological innovations, says Katharina Grienberger, quoted by merkur.de.
It lists 10 professions in which humans can already be 100% replaced by AI.
